Default Why do we love Kurt more now he is dead?

I love Nirvana and i love Kurt. Due to this love i am wriing a dissertation at university about him and his life after death. I want to know from you guys what it is about him that you fell in love with? Why are we still so nostalgic about him and the era he left behind?why are kids still discvering Nirvana? Do you think his death made him into more of a romantic character, and made you love him and his music even more? Please help me, i want you opinions on my subject matter.

What I liked about Kurt because of his voice, character, and the lyrics that he writes in this song. I think he became famous after he died because a person's death causes much more people to know them than they were alive.

Unhappy

You really dont know how much you love someone until they die. You expect them to be there the next day but when they die, their not there anymore. I love kurt but he is real stupid. he's stupid obviously because he killed himself.

Yes he does kurt.

I love Kurt Cobain because he was real and down to earth unlike these phony bastards and he had such great talent.
Kurt Cobain Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl connected with their audience which included people of different religions, ages, ethnicities, social statuses , male or female, etc..you get my point
Remember Nirvana isn't just Kurt..its Krist and Dave as well.
Nirvana's music had a great amount of teenage angst in it...so Kurt really reached out to the youth..those kids who were fed up with school..those kids fed up with being told what to do and those kids who were made fun of because they weren't popular..those kids who came from broken families and so forth.
Nirvana's music was my therapy..my drug throughout my teenage angst. Countless times I've almost killed myself and was unhappy with my family and whenever I looked..Nirvana was there..so I'd put one of their cds in and felt so much better. I've read biographies on Kurt Cobain and to my surprise..I was so much like him . I guess thats why I found such a great love for him because I could relate to him.
I'm not obsessed with Nirvana or Kurt. Its because he was a person. Not some holy god. He didn't want to be idolized or worshiped.

To answer your questions,
We still have nostalgia about him,Nirvana and the grunge era because most of us probably grew up in that era although I can't speak for everyone. Nirvana was the type of band to bring all sorts of people together. Kurt was the type of person to understand and he seemed pretty empathetic.

Kids are still discovering Nirvana because they probably found and older sibling's cd or their parent's..or anyone's for that matter and decided to listen to it and they probably fell in love. Its 2009 and Nirvana hasn't burned out or faded away. Nirvana spoke for future generations. I think its great that kids are still discovering Nirvana.

Kurt dying didn't make me love him more or make his music better. I know most artists and musicians become more famous once they are deceased but I don't look at Kurt's death as making him more attractive or more appealing. I still feel the same. I was young when he died but I grew up listening to Nirvana..requesting to play them on the jukebox. I remember his death in an odd way even though I was so young. I can remember a lot from my childhood while most can't.

Kurt was a likable person with a good soul who didn't sell out. He wanted to reach out to those people who can relate to him & well I'll always thank him for helping me because I'm still alive and kickin..I don't know where I'd be if I didn't listen to Nirvana..they opened my soul.

Default your stupid

its human nature to morn the loss of the dead, when he was alive he was adored and admired by millions all around the world, ya of course some people just said; "ow he's dead that sucks" but others began to morn the death of the voice of a generation with this worship of sorts.

I don't love Kurt more because he's dead. The things that made me love him--like his talent, dedication to the integrity of his art, etc have nothing to do with his death.

I do not love him more now that he is dead. I loved him just the same when he was alive, I was 13 when he died, and I remember loving him with a passion even then. But as time goes by, I just miss him more and more, and now, after so many years, I'm just realizing what it really means to live my life, my entire life, missing him.
